MONCADA, Rosaria 'Sara' - (1932 - 2019) - Passed away at Michael Garron Hospital on Sunday June 16, 2019 with her son Joe at her side.
Born April 20, 1932 in Pachino, Sicily, Sarah emigrated to Canada in 1952. She was a homemaker, a highly skilled seamstress, knitter, and crocheter.
Sara very much loved children, including her own two sons, her nieces and nephew, her many god-children, her grand-nieces and grand-nephews, the neighbourhood children, others she cared for, and of course her grand-daughter.
She was a lively, vivacious, loving, and generous person. Sara showed her love through food, and was always ready to offer a seat at her table and serve up someone's favourite foods at a moment's notice.
Sara was predeceased by her husband, Pietro, her youngest son, Guy, and her brother Tony. She is survived by her oldest son Joe, her daughter-in-law Laura, grand-daughter Leah, and sister Carmela.
Visitation will be held on Monday June 24 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 at the Trull Funeral Home, 1111 Danforth Avenue, Toronto. A service will be held at the funeral home at 4:00 on Monday June 24th.
Flowers are welcome. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Kidney Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
