SAWCHUK, Sonia - Passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Bendale Acres, in her 89th year.
She was a mother, business woman, art lover and world traveller.
Sonia was born and raised in Toronto. After marrying, she moved to Sudbury and raised her three children, Jim, Sonia Jr. and Taressa.
She then returned to Toronto to run her very successful "personalized" travel business "Scholair". She went on to other business ventures from which she retired in the early 90's. Sonia has always been interested in and a great supporter of the "arts".
As a child, she played the violin. After high school, she attended the Ontario College of Art.
Later, she tried her hand at some acting but her main career was as an independent business woman.
She is survived by her two children Jim and Taressa, her grandchildren Justin, Mikaila and Wave, great-grandson Alexander and her two sisters Vasilka and Daphiny.
There will be a private memorial gathering at a later date.
