Brown DonBROWN, Donald 'Don' -It is with great sadness to announce the loss of a wonderful man, Don on Tuesday October 8, 2019, shortly after his 87th birthday,

Don was a loyal husband to his love, Phyllis (nee Wilkins) for 63 years.

No one could ask for a better dad, who was always quick to show his love to children Kate (Neil), Larry (Holly), Christine & Jackie, grandchildren Leslie (Arthur), Abner (Christa), Erin & Austin and most recently, great-granddaughter Rowan.

He is predeceased by his parents, Jim & Christina Brown, all of his siblings: Jean, Cecil, Margaret and Charlie and his youngest child, Jackie.

Don grew up on his family’s farm near Priceville, Glenelg Township, ON and spent his adult life living in Brampton, where he and Phyllis raised their family and hosted friends and neighbours for 59 years in their house on Clarence St. before moving to a retirement residence in late 2017. He worked in heating & cooling construction all of his working life, with the latter years spent as a Heating Inspector at the City of Brampton – a job that he really enjoyed, mostly due to the great people he worked with there.

Don was a die-hard Leafs fan, even when they were losing. He enjoyed simple things...playing horseshoes, going to the casino with Phyllis, red wine, warm beer (never from the fridge), chocolate covered almonds and country & western music (“not the new stuff”). He was a talented handyman who could build or fix almost anything.

Most importantly, Don was a very kind, loyal and caring man who loved his family and valued his friends. His intelligence and sense of humour made him great company. He is very loved and will be so deeply missed.

Visitation will be held at Brampton Funeral Home, Brampton on October 15th from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. The service will take place in the chapel on October 16th at 1:00 PM.
