MAHERAS, Dimitra - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dimitra Maheras, peacefully at the Hellenic Home for the Aged, surrounded by her loving family on the morning of Saturday, January 18, 2020.
She is survived by her loving sons Peter and Bill Maheras.
Cherished Grandma of Maria Rivera, Ted Platanas and Christopher Maheras and great grand children, Xander, Melina and Olivia Rivera.
Predeceased by her husband Chris Maheras and beloved child Panayota Platanas.
Dimitra loved nature and children. Sitting on the front porch on her veranda was very relaxing for her. The sun shining on her face brought her much joy.
Dimitra will be greatly missed by generations of family and lifelong friends, both here and in Greece.
Family will receive friends at Heritage Funeral Centre, Toronto on Monday, January 20th, 2020 from 5 to 8 PM. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, January 21st, at 11 AM, inside the chapel of the Hellenic Home for the Aged, Scarborough Location, 2411 Lawrence Ave East, Scarborough, ON, followed by internment.
In lieu of flowers we encourage any memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
