Pasianotto Giuseppe PinoPASIANOTTO, Giuseppe Daniele 'Pino' - On Monday April 13, 2020, Giuseppe Daniele Pasianotto passed away, aged 90, at Villa Leonardo Gambin, Woodbridge, Ontario.

Giuseppe (Pino) was born on October 27, 1929 in the village of Gleris in the province of Pordenone/Udine, Italy. He was one of 11 children born to Elisabetta (Gardin) and Angelo Pasianotto.

He worked on a farm with his family and later had a gravel business. At age 18 he started his obligatory military service with the Alpini Brigade Julia.

In June 1954, he immigrated to Canada, landing in Halifax then taking the long train journey to Saskatchewan to work on the Canadian railway. After a short time there, Pino moved to Toronto and began work as a plasterer.

He sent money back to Italy to have his fiancée, Licia Micelli, join him in Toronto. Within a week of her arrival, they were married on October 29, 1955, at Immaculate Conception Church in Toronto.

They raised four children together – Iside (Didi), Carmen, Stephen and Vivian- in the home they purchased in 1959 on Cayuga Avenue. He continued to work as a plasterer and later as a drywall taper, until his retirement in October 1994 at age 65. Giuseppe enjoyed hunting – always with one of his dogs, tending to his impressive vegetable garden and smoking his pipe.

Pino is survived by his wife Licia of 64 years, his four children Didi, Carmen (Lorenzo), Stephen (Eloise), and Vivian (Denis); his eight grandchildren Michael, Matthew (Cinzia), Julia, Katharine, Robert, Emma, David, Daniel and great-granddaughter Allegra. Pino also leaves behind brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers in-law, sisters in-law and their families in both Italy and Canada along with friends and neighbours.

Special thanks to the staff and volunteers at Villa Leonardo Gambin for the excellent care Pino received. We are grateful for their compassion and kindness.

Due to COVID-19 protocol, the service and burial will be private. At a later date, there will be a memorial mass and celebration of Pino’s life. Arrangements with Ward Funeral Homes.
