Korec PaulKOREC, Pavlo 'Paul' - Died peacefully on Saturday, April 18, 2020 in Toronto, Ontario at the age of 79.

Pavlo is survived by his wife Violet, daughter Michele (Dale), daughter Lawrie (César), and son Evan (Yvonne) and his three grandchildren Hunter, Logan and Willow.

Pavlo is also survived by brothers Kyrylo, Ivan (Zina), and sister Olga (John).

He is predeceased by parents Anna and Emilian as well as brothers Mykola and Ted.

He was born in Khotsun, Ukraine and immigrated to Canada in 1956 after living in England after the war. His travel documents from this time note a birth date which conflicted with his actual date of birth of September 10, 1940 and led to never ending confusion on when to celebrate.

Upon reaching Canada Pavlo apprenticed as a painter and decorator until finding work at De Havilland Aircraft of Canada where he was a proud member of the CAW Local 112 for over 35 years until his retirement in 2001.

His children remember him as a committed provider and gentle and fun-loving grandfather. Pavlo enjoyed supporting all of Toronto’s sports teams and also watched soccer from all over the world. His favourite past time was fishing with his friends and family at the cottage near Fenelon Falls, Ontario.

Immediate family will meet at Saint Volodomyr Ukrainian Cemetery for an intimate gathering on Wednesday, April 20, 2020.

The family would like to thank all of the support teams at Beach Arms Retirement Residence, Bloomsdale Health Services, Heritage Nursing Home and Michael Garron Hospital.
