Mitchell DavidMITCHELL, David Gordon - It is with great sadness, that the family of David Gordon Mitchell announces his passing on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at the age of 60 years.

At home, and surrounded by his family, he slipped away peacefully to be with Jesus. Oh, how he looked forward to this day!

Predeceased by his father Douglas Mitchell, David will be lovingly remembered by his Mom Leona Mitchell, brother Paul Ronald, sister Catherine (Brian), nieces Emma and Madeleine, as well as many extended family members and close friends.

Those of us who were fortunate enough to have known David, appreciated so deeply his fun sense of humour, his incredible generosity of spirit and his unconditional kindness. Nobody left his presence without several “I Love You!”s. David will be sorely missed but we feel so incredibly grateful to have had him in our lives.

We would like to thank all who added to David’s quality of life including Dr. Daien, his family doctor, as well as the staff of the Mississauga LHIN who compassionately cared for David at the end of his life.

A funeral service will be held at Ridley Funeral Home, Etobicoke on Thursday, May 21st at 11:00 am. Respecting the restrictions brought on by COVID-19, this will be a closed service, but will be Livestreamed. You can access the livestream by clicking on "Tribute Wall" on the funeral home's website.

For those who wish to do so, donations to IAM - Institute for Advancements in Mental Health, (formerly the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario), would greatly honour David’s life.
