Uranza YolandaURANZA, Yolanda Diaz - Of Ajax, Ontario, Canada, passed away peacefully during her sleep after several years of bravely battling cancer on May 18, 2020 at the age of 75.

Yolanda Diaz was born on May 14, 1945 in Atimonan, Quezon Province, Philippines. She immigrated to Canada in the 1970’s where she met Meynardo V. Uranza also from the Quezon Province, Philippines. The two married and settled east of Toronto.

They worked for the banks (him at Toronto Dominion and her at Scotiabank). The couple did not have any children but were happy to receive Carlos U. Garcia (Meynardo’s nephew) and his family when they moved to Canada in the 1990’s.

The couple also raised Archie (Carlos’s son) as their own. Yolly is very involved in the Bukas Loob sa Diyos (BLD) Catholic Community.

Yolanda was predeceased by her older brother during childhood; her parents prior to migrating to Canada; and her husband – Meynardo in 2006.

She will be missed by her cousins, her friends, the Altez family, and especially the Garcia family (Nancy, Abe, Allen and Archie).
