NAVAS, Silvio - Passed away peacefully on August 16, 2020 at his home in Scarborough, Ont., surrounded by his family, at the age of 77.
Born in Granada, Nicaragua, one of nine children to Nicolas and Berta Navas.
He attended the Universidad Autonoma de Managua where he graduated as a Civil Engineer.
He immigrated to Canada in 1988.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 loving years, Maritza, and his children Benicia, Silvio Jr., Maritza (Julio), Larry (Myriam), Ericka and Yaosca.
He was a loving grandfather to Pavel, Juan A., Ericka, Dominic, Julian, Caleb, Kieran, Melisa, Julio, Veronica, Alessandra, Faviana, Ethan, Liam, Elijah and Kobe.
He is predeceased by his daughters, Margine Elizett and Karina Antonieta.
He is described as a God-fearing man, wonderful husband, excellent father and grandfather. He was an example and a leader in his circle of friends. A beautiful human being and the ultimate professional. His passions included music, movies, helping others and a true love for his family and friends.
You will always be in our hearts, it was easy to love you and impossible to forget you.
A special thank you to his Doctor, Lubomir Alexov, Personal Support Worker, Christine, his Nurse Jason and Nurse Practitioner, Dean, for their incredible care and compassion.
Visitation will be held at Highland Funeral Home, Scarborough on August 30th from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. The service will take place at St. Rose Of Lima Parish, 3216 Lawrence Ave E, Scarborough on August 31st at 10:00 AM.
