WALLER, Dorothy Beatrice (nee Bradbrook) - (January 2, 1922- September 18, 2020) - At the grand old age of 98 Dorothy passed from this world peacefully with family by her side, watching her beloved Blue Jays.
Predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years Lawrence F. Waller, Dorothy leaves behind her adoring daughter Lorraine (Murray Lloyd), grandson Tristan Lloyd, and granddaughters Sydney and Devin Lloyd (Ryan Davis).
A cherished, blessed soul who loved a good laugh, she inspired joy with her dry wit and pranks. Dorothy emigrated from Yorkshire (“where the pudding comes from”), England with her husband in 1952 to start a new life in Toronto. After a few years they decided to put down roots in Newmarket and built an extensive network of friends and family working and socializing locally.
Her passion for Bingo and scrabble was renowned and she played a mean game right up until her passing.
Special thanks to Dr. Bagiou of Southlake Regional Health Centre and his palliative team who made the transition so much easier.
Donations may be made in Dorothy’s name to a local charity of your choice if you wish.
Arrangements with Roadhouse and Rose funeral home, Newmarket. Visitations will be held on Tuesday, September 29th from 6 pm - 8 pm and Wednesday, September 30th from 11 am - 1 pm, with service to follow. Given the current situation please email Lorraine at
