KAIMAN, Ruth (nee Jacobs)  - Her famous saying was, “If you don’t laugh about it, you’ll cry." This is how she led her life and triumphed over many challenging obstacles.

She left us suddenly in her 99th year, on October 1st, 2020, after a brief hospitalization.

Ruth was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin (Jerry) Kaiman. Adored mother to Howard and Vardina and Shoel and Marlene. Loving Nana to Renee and Sammy, Jodi and Mark, Natalie and Gordon and Matthew and Natalie. Great-grandmother to Sloane and Griffin, Isaac and Miles, Kai, and Ben and Charlie.

She leaves behind her sister Norma Katz and was predeceased by her siblings Minnie, Jeanette, Bill, Sydney, Lily and Solly. She was very close to her sisters-in-laws who all passed away before her - Sarah, Bella, Hilda, Annie and Simmie. Lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

Thank you to Baycrest 6 South and her caregiver Kristina for their exceptional care and devotion.

Ruth had an amazing sense of humour. Her house and heart were always open to family and friends for visits and her famous baking. She loved baseball, playing cards and Rummikub, knitting, and telling a good joke.

She will be missed by all of those who knew and loved her.

Private Family Service arrangements October 2nd with live stream. A personal message on the website of Steeles Memorial Chapel would be especially welcome at this time.

In lieu of shiva visits, please contact Howard or Shoel should you wish to arrange a virtual meeting.

Memorial donations may be made to the Baycrest Foundation 416-785-2875 or to the charity of your choice.
