ARCHER, Rosemary Therese - A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at Cardinal Ambrosic Houses of Providence on Thursday, October 15, 2020.
Pre-deceased by Douglas, her ‘forever love’ and husband of 64 years.
Rosemary will be remembered always by her six children and their spouses – Cathy (Michael), Rosemarie (Larry), Doug (Corinne), Gail (Dave), Diane (Kevin), and David – as well as her 11 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Throughout her life Rosemary was active in her church, a great supporter of the Cancer Society, and had a tremendous love for animals. She gave generously to the Humane Society, the Toronto Zoo, the Cancer Society and many other charitable organizations. She also enjoyed painting – mostly statues of animals - doing needlepoint work – the fruits of which she gave to friends and family, and playing bridge – mainly for the social aspects of the game.
Despite a battle with Alzheimer’s, Rosemary always kept her smile, never lost her desire for life, and maintained her deep and immense love for her family. She will be forever missed, but forever remembered.
Special thanks to the staff of Cardinal Ambrosic Houses of Providence, as well as Charmaine, a personal care giver with Retire at Home services, for the wonderful care they provided Rosemary in the final years of her life. And particular acknowledgement goes to Renee Mayo, personal care giver and friend, for her unfailing support and extraordinary companionship.
Due to COVID-19, a funeral service will be held for family only on Monday, October 19th at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Toronto Humane Society.
While the family wishes you could all be with them in their time of loss, they appreciate your kind words and condolences.
