Brazil HyldaBRAZIL, Hylda - Beloved mother, grandmother, friend, and wife passed peacefully in her sleep at home in Toronto, ON at 12:01 am, on October 21, 2020 at the age of 104.

Her transition was supported by her diligent and committed care team, Agnes, Juliet and Kay.

Hylda was born in Johannesburg, South Africa on October 16th, 1916. She migrated to Canada alongside her husband Bernard in 1984.

Her friends and family span multiple continents including the countries South Africa, Australia, Israel, England, the United States and Canada.

Hylda is survived by her sons Glenn and Trevor and son-in-law Leslie along with their respective spouses/partners' Sylvie, Claire and Shelley.

Hylda was a much cherished grandmother to Bradley, Ari, Teya, Dayne, Jonathan and Daniel, along with their respective spouses/partners' Jeffrey, Treena, Michelle, and Tahne.

Hylda's great-grandchildren Noah, Atticus and Ocean were blessed to know her and have her in their lives.

Hylda is pre-deceased by her husband Bernard and her daughter Brenda along with many friends and family of her generation.

Hylda was an amazing friend to all she knew at the Baycrest Centre through her decades of volunteer work. She thrived in her community at the Gates of Bayview and was surrounded by care, companionship and support throughout her years. Hylda's wit, humour and kindness will be remembered by all.

We are devastated by the loss of our family matriarch but comforted knowing that Hylda lived a full and meaningful life that came to its natural end in its time.

Memorial donations to Canadian National Institute for the Blind (800) 563-2642 or Toronto Public Library (416) 393-7123.
