BERNARDO, Maria (Spina) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Bernardo.
A loving wife, mother, nonna, and zia, Maria passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at the age of 90.
We are grateful that she has been reunited in Heaven with her loving husband Michele.
Maria is remembered and cherished by her children, Felice (Donna), Anthony (Josie), Sam (Teresa), Louisa, and Sue.
She is also mourned and loved as Nonna to her grandchildren: Jason (Riki), Phillip (Kimiko), Stephanie, Adriana (Jeff), Christina (Daniel), Anthony (Jayne), and Amanda (Mike); as well as little Nonna to Jake, Boston, Ashton, Benjamin, Nicx, and Daisy.
Whether it be knitting us something special to wear, or cooking us something special to eat, Maria's legacy is her devotion to her family. We will cherish her memory with love and care, just as she loved and cared for us. We will also take comfort in knowing that a small piece of her lives on in the recipes we are grateful to have received from her--especially her cake and cookies. We will remember her warmly as we prepare and enjoy these treats as a family.
Though we say goodbye to Maria today, she will be held forever in the hearts of family and friends.
