Chappell JoanCHAPPELL, Joan Luella - Age 98, passed away peacefully December 16, 2020.

She was born April 5th 1922 in North Bay, Ontario to Ernest and Eva Duly.

She was married to Russell Chappell who preceded her in death in 1993 at the age of 75.

Beloved aunt to niece Darlene (Dave). Great aunt to Kyle, Kara, Brenda, Steven and Karen.

Predeceased by the following: sisters Evelyn and Gwendoline, niece Jeanette, nephew Wayne.

Joan worked for over 39 years (1948-1987) at Woolworth starting in the stock room, moving up through various positions to Service Store Accounting. Always a hard worker, she was very proud to have worked for such a large company for so many years.

A long-time resident of The Junction, Joan kept a very detailed journal which showed the transformation of the area. She saw many changes to her small neighborhood from rural to city, and had many stories to tell. She loved her days spent roaming Bloor West Village.

Joan was a sweet, wonderful lady who was a good soul. She will be deeply missed by all.

Arrangements with Lynett Funeral Home.

I’d like the memory of me
to be a happy one,
I’d like to leave an afterglow
of smiles when the day is done.

I’d like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
of happy times,
and laughing times
and bright sunny days.

I'd like the tears to those who grieve
to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave
behind-when the day is done.
