Klein MichaelKLEIN, Michael - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather Michael Klein, surrounded by his loving children on December 19, 2020, 19 days before his 91st birthday.

Mike was the firstborn of four children. He grew up with two brothers and a sister in a small town in Czechoslovakia, near the Hungarian border.

During the war, he and his family were able to avoid capture for some time before being taken to Auschwitz. Mike was the only survivor from his family and at 15 years of age, was sent to live in England after liberation.

In 1947 with the help of Jewish agencies, Mike was able to come to Canada. In 1951, he met the love of his life, Agi. They raised three children and shared a long and joyous life together for 61 years until Agi's passing.

Mike will be lovingly remembered by his children, Jeff and Bernetta, Marilyn and Howard, and Brian and Donna, as well as his grandchildren, Rachel, Daniel, Kara, Adrienne, Jessica, Valerie and Shay, Richard and Sol, Courtney, Lindsay, Dylan and great- grandson, Adam.

We are tremendously grateful to Liez and her family for the care and devotion they gave to our dad for the last eight years.

Mike will always be remembered for his charming personality, sense of humour and the strong family bond he and Agi instilled within their family.

A graveside service will take place on Monday, December 21, 2020.

Memorial donations may be made to The Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies
