Code GretchenCODE, Gretchen Lee (nee VOADEN)   - Passed away peacefully at Valleyview Long-term Care Home, St. Thomas, Ontario on January 10, 2021, at the age of 83, following a stroke and a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.

Gretchen was predeceased by her husband Jim.

She was the dearly loved mother of Michael and Marion Code, Laura and Harold Lee, and Jackie and Bill North.

She was a wonderful grandmother to Elise Code, Keagan and Levi Lee, and Daniel, Nick and Kyra North.

Gretchen was also a loving sister, sister-in-law and aunt to Jane and John Ricketts and sons Paul, Christopher and the late Marc Ricketts, and Lois Code and children Victor and Virginia Ceni.

Born in Toronto to the late Fred and Hazel (nee Whitcroft) Voaden, Gretchen graduated from University of Toronto in Physical and Occupational Therapy and practiced in her field for many years.

Later in her career, she worked in high school career counselling.

Gretchen had a wide circle of good friends, and was an enthusiastic and dedicated volunteer.

She enjoyed playing the piano and had a lovely singing voice.

Due to COVID-19, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
