Cook StephenCOOK, Stephen   - 1925 - 2021  We thought he would go on forever.

After all, we called him "the machine," as he rallied from many crises in his life.

Our beloved Dad and Branka died on January 9, 2021, at the age of 95.

Dad had many talents. He was a beautiful singer who sang at hundreds of weddings.

He excelled as a baseball catcher, chess player, at poker and cribbage, golf, gardening, and bowling.

He was a joke-teller and a successful self-made businessman.

But above all, he was a loving father to Suzanne (Joe) and Kerry (Alex), the family he built with our mom, Regi, who predeceased him by 18 years.

He was loved by his grandchildren, Suchot (Simon) and Courtney (Mike), and blessed with great-grandchildren: Olena, Theodore and Oliver. Our patriarch has left this world, but his light continues to shine in the family he left behind.

Dad was a proud WWII Veteran and he lived his last months at Sunnybrook Veterans Centre.

We express our heartfelt gratitude to his team there, Dr. Shergold, Cheryl, Frances, Jackie, Sapna, Father Jim and many others for their expertise, kindness and compassion in caring for our dad.

Paraphrasing Dad's last words to his mother when he was just a boy, "It has been an honour having you as our father.".
