Roddick MarieRODDICK, Marie (nee Roach) - We are deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Marie Roddick (nee Roach) on January 17, 2021 in her 99th year.

She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Survived by sons Jeff (Terry) and Gordon (Sue). Pre-deceased by husband Reay and eight brothers and sisters.

Marie was born in Lindsay, Ontario and grew up on the family farm within a large loving family.

She was known for the passion and commitment she brought to everything she did, from her time as a registered nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Toronto to a flight attendant with Trans-Canada Airlines in the 1940s when passenger airline travel was a true adventure. Longtime real estate agent with Sutton Group Old Mill in Etobicoke, she was active in real estate until her eighty sixth year because she loved it.

She just loved dealing with people.

She was also an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays including trips to Florida with friends for spring training.

Nothing made her happier than to spend time at the cottage on Lake Simcoe. Here she could spoil family and friends baking her delicious deserts.

A special thanks to the staff of the Grenadier Retirement Residence for the loving care and attention you provided.

In these challenging times, a private service has been scheduled. Arrangements entrusted with Ward funeral homes.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to the Alzheimer Society of Canada in memory of Marie.
