PREIS, Josef - (January 12, 1935 - February 7, 2021) - It is with heavy heart we announce the peaceful passing of Josef Preis in his 86th year, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Josef will be missed dearly by his loving wife Linda of 48 years, his son Josef, his daughter Elizabeth, his daughter-in-law Louise, his son-in-law Roger, his loving grand-children Jenna, Christopher, Katarina, Melanie and Elise, along with extended family and friends.
Josef was born in Homolitz, Yugoslavia in 1935, immigrating to Canada in 1953 making Saskatchewan his first home and later settling in Toronto.
He was a determined and hard-working man with an eye for detail, never leaving any stone unturned. His passion for family was undeniable; the love for his wife, children and grandchildren will forever be carried in their hearts.
Opa showed us all that in life no matter what it brings, one must never lose hope, never give up, and to always put family first.
To all the health-care professionals, especially at Sunnybrook Hospital, North York General Hospital and the palliative nursing team, a heartfelt thank you.
