VARONA, Matilde - (March 20, 1939 – February 10, 2021)
Born in 1939, Matilde Varona’s incredible life journey went from growing up in slavery, the struggles of racism and discrimination, segregation, war, a revolution, and famine.
Her strength and bravery ultimately lead her family to freedom. Despite all of her experiences and pain, it did not deter her for being compassionate, understanding and loving. This is enough for anyone to see a glimpse into her soul.
Matilde’s dedication to God and the scriptures were unrelenting. She shared comfort, spiritual guidance, and friendship with countless friends that love her and will keep her in their thoughts and hearts forever. Her surviving children and grandchildren love her very much and will miss her dearly. May God bless her soul.
