JAMES, Ralph Edward - Ralph Edward James, longtime technician with the Canadian Press news service, died peacefully on February 9, 2021, at the Sunnybrook palliative care centre, after being diagnosed late last year with throat cancer.
He was 77. Ralph, born in Blenheim, Ontario, led an adventurous young life, on a railway track crew in a remote area of British Columbia, and as a telephone lineman in Ontario and the Bahamas, retaining lifelong friendships from each.
He also travelled extensively in Europe, North Africa, and Central America.
Predeceased by his wife Linda, whom he lovingly tended through a long decline until her death from breast cancer.
He is mourned by his son Benjamin, daughter Andrea, brother Bill (Alice), sisters Carolyn (Sandy McFarlane) Ginny and Susan, grandsons Henry and Calvin, his dear companion Catherine Kean and her son Dennis.
A memorial gathering will be arranged later.
