Jones GladysJONES, Gladys Gertrude - Peacefully passed away on Sunday February 14th, 2021 at the age of 98 years.

Gladys now rejoins her dear parents Gertrude May (nee Noel) and Albert Victor Jones.

She was the loving sister of Muriel Dorothy Bennett and Edward Albert Jones (predeceased). She will be sadly missed by her nieces Anita, Dale, Debbie, Wendy, and nephews Greg, Scott, Lorne (predeceased), Victor and great nieces and nephews Mindy, Melissa, Samantha, Rox, Rebecca and Andrew.

Gladys was born in Montreal, Quebec on April 8, 1922. For many years, she was a Sunday school teacher at St Lawrence Anglican Church in Montreal. After her family moved to Ontario, she became involved in the Ladies Auxiliary at Christ Church Brampton.

Gladys was always ready to help and lend a comforting hand. Alongside her sister, she knitted booties, mitts & hats for the new-borns & premature babies at Brampton Memorial Hospital. Gladys had many interests and passions. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, board and card games. She loved knitting in the sunroom while watching the birds splashing in the birdbath and telling the kids stories from her youth. She was always ready with a story about what it was like to work during wartime.

Gladys was passionate about nature and animals and often donated to charities such as Ontario SPCA and Canadian Wildlife Fund. Gladys will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all her family, friends and all who knew her.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Burton Manor for all the care and compassion shown to Gladys.

In lieu of flowers donations in loving memory of Gladys to the SPCA or The Canadian Wildlife Federation would be appreciated and can be made using the links above.

In light of the current global pandemic, there will be no formal visitation or funeral service at this time.  Arrangements and a livestream funeral service are entrusted with Scott funeral home, Brampton chapel.
