Pugh RobertPUGH, F. Robert (Bob)   - November 25, 1937 – February 25, 2021

My soulmate, my rock and the love of my life gently slipped his lines and embarked on his next odyssey.

I, Lesley Grace, his wife, am adrift without him.

He leaves behind his son Michael (Tay) and their children, Neo and Grace (YaYa) in England, his daughter Melanie in Toronto and his sister Nancy Graham, Dorval, Quebec.

Also, a sea of relatives in several countries and an ocean of friends and neighbours everywhere. Bob loved life and embraced it to the fullest.

Sailing was his passion and in September 1996 set sail from Southampton, England, on board MAIDEN, and took part in the 1996-1997 Hong Kong Challenge Around the World Yacht Race.

Boats from many different countries also participated.

MAIDEN was the last British boat to sail into Hong Kong before the Colony was returned to the Chinese.

The race took eleven months, MAIDEN was second overall when they crossed the finish line in Cowes, on the Isle of Wight and Bob earned the right to call himself a circumnavigator.

We travelled extensively, with friends and family, either by plane, train, ship, car or motor bike.

We wintered in Thailand, Portugal, Florida and latterly Oakville.

A private cremation has already taken place.
