Alimena MariaALIMENA, Maria Parise - (1932 - 2021) - Maria left us quietly on the evening of March 6, 2021.

Born to Francesco and Carmela Parise in Cosenza, Italy on January 5, 1932, she was the second of five siblings, Carmine, Antonio, Luigi, and Rita.

Immigrated to Toronto in 1960 and married Giovanni Alimena.

Loving mother of four wonderful children, Luigina, Lea (Steven), Giorgio (Christina), Giannamaria (Robert).

Loving grandmother of Adam, Chelsea (Alexander), David, Giovanni, William, Elena, Zachary, Evan, Justin, and Alexander. Maria adored her daughter-in-law ‘Christi’ who would tell her with enthusiasm what a great ‘cooker’ she is and her sons-in-law, Steve and Bob, she would always say what ‘wonderful, wonderful’ men they are.

Maria loved to sing her Italian folk songs and was always ready with an Italian saying or fable. Maria had a love of flowers, coffee, sweets but most of all, she adored her family. Maria was a mother who allowed her
children to spread their wings and live life to its fullest. She knew how to bring smiles to her grandchildren’s faces and make them feel good. She embraced us with her love and showered us with hugs and kisses every day. Dear Mamma and Nonna, we will miss you so much!

Floral tributes are appreciated or a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Mental Health Association Ontario Division

Visitation arrangements are entrusted with Ward funeral homes, Woodbridge chapel.

Respecting the current situation and pandemic restrictions, the service and entombment will be private. The family has provided the opportunity to view the LiveStream service from the comfort of your own home, with details on the funeral home website.
