Evans DavidEVANS, David George   - May 15, 1928 - March 10, 2021

Passed away peacefully at his home in Mississauga, at the age of 92 with his beloved partner Sylvia at his side.

Father of Peter, Jeremy, Bryan and Eric.

Loving grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather to 14 children and young adults in Canada, England and Ireland.

Born and raised in London, England, David was evacuated to the countryside during World War 2, which for him was a time of freedom and a great source of entertaining stories for the grandchildren. He was educated, rowed for his college and played cricket at Oxford University.

During a short career as an army officer he married Angela and they had their first two children, Peter and Jeremy before they immigrated to Canada in 1957.

David taught History in High Schools in Regina and Sault Ste Marie before settling in Scarborough, where Bryan and Eric were born, and later in Mississauga.

David served as Vice Principal in a number of schools in Peel before his retirement in the mid 1980s. He and Sylvia both served as volunteer carers in Heart House.

David remained a keen sports fan, played some golf and introduced the sport to all four boys. He was a skilled Bridge player, an excellent partner for Sylvia.

He was a keen letter writer and enjoyed corresponding with his grandchildren especially sharing his lived history stories of life in wartime England.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to Heart House.
