YOANIDIS, Mariya 'Maro' - Passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at the age of 80 at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre.
Cherished wife of Bobo for 55 years.
Loving mother of Vivian (Luis), and Clement (Roxanne).
Loving Yiayia of Amanda, Sydney, Andreas, and Alexandra.
Maro was a thea to many and will also be fondly remembered by other relatives and friends.
Maro’s drive and determination is what took her from Istanbul, Turkey where she was born to follow the love of her life Bobo to Zurich, Switzerland and then to Toronto, where she settled and had a family and a fulfilling job as a Medical Records Clerk at Toronto General Hospital.
Maro loved to laugh and make others laugh. Her caring spirit and deep love for her husband, children and grandchildren was evident to all.
Maro will forever be loved and in our hearts.
The family will receive friends at Heritage Funeral Centre, Toronto on Wednesday, April 7th. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 8 at 1 p.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 30 Throncliffe Park Drive., Toronto. Interment to follow. Due to the Covid-19 gathering restrictions, all guests are required to register in order to attend the visitation, funeral service and the burial.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society and Sunnybrook Health Science Centre are welcome in her memory.
