West Mavis MaeWEST, Mavis Louise 'Mae' (Pennant) - Mavis Louise West (Pennant) known to most as Aunt Mae, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 after a long battle with metastatic Ovarian Cancer, she was 89 years old.

Born in St. Thomas, Jamaica on March 10, 1932 to parents Wilfred and Louise Pennant. She was the last of 4 children, predeceased by her parents and 2 brothers and a sister.

She worked in the hospitality field up until she retired. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy-Malton.

She was very strong in her faith, she loved the Lord and her family. When she felt ill, she approached it in a Godly way saying if it is His will, then it shall be so.

It would be wrong to say that Aunt Mae lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. She stayed strong. Through her, we know what perseverance looks like.

Mavis is survived by her 8 of her 9 children, 21 Grandchildren, 14 Great grandchildren and 1 Great, Great grandson. She died leaving nieces, nephews and many extended family members, 5 generations of loving family members.

There will be NO OPEN PUBLIC VISITATION

A Private Funeral service for Mavis will be held on Friday May 14th at Scott Funeral Home 'Woodbridge CHapel,' 7776 Kipling Avenue, Vaughan, ON. Livestream will be available via the funeral home's website. Burial at Glendale Memorial Gardens directly following service.

Our family wants to thank you all for your outpouring of love and condolences on the loss of our beloved Aunt Mae.
