Campbell HughCAMPBELL, Hugh  -  Passed away suddenly, but peacefully, on Monday, May 24, 2021, at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, at the age of 90 years.

Beloved husband of the late Lee Campbell (2002) and of the late Joan Humphreys Campbell (2020).

Loving father of Michael Campbell (Cheryl), Elaine Campbell (Clive Robertson) and Robert Campbell (Christina). Dear friend and step-father to David Humphreys (Janine), Elizabeth Waters (Russell) and Traci O'Hara (David).

Treasured Grandpa of Meghan, Kathryn (Mark), Cameron (Nicole), Sean (Ayesha), Alexa, Christopher (Melissa), Elizabeth (Ryan), Brandon, Shannon-Joan, Tyler (Carly), James, Elizabeth- Joan, Samantha and the late Jamie.

Great-Grandpa of Evan, Nate, Grace, Zoey, Malachi, Elijah, Clare and Luke.

Hugh will be greatly missed by his family, including the "Western Campbell Clan", notably, his late brother John (2019) and sister-in-law Rhonda, his bridge playing companions, and all of his friends.

Hugh was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and received Civil Engineering degrees from University of Manitoba (BASc) and McGill (MASc). He moved to Toronto from Montreal in 1966 with wife Lee and family, to continue his lifelong career at Dominion Bridge, where he worked on some of Canada's most iconic structures, including the CN Tower and the "SkyDome".

He fully retired in 2000 after working as a Consultant to the company.

Hugh and Lee moved to Peterborough in the late 1990's, hosting family visits, and playing competitive bridge, which was a lifelong passion of Hugh's.

When Lee passed away after 48 years of happy marriage, Hugh re-married, and with Joan Humphreys created a wonderful extended family.

Hugh and Joan enjoyed many years of travel and loving companionship.

The family would like to thank the staff at PRHC and Royal Gardens for their care of Hugh over the past few years.

In keeping with Hugh's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date when family is permitted to gather.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in memory of Hugh, to the PRHC Foundation.
