Stern NormanSTERN, Norman Peter   -  July 15, 1950 - June 7, 2021

With sorrow, we share the sudden passing of our beloved and caring father: Norman Peter Stern.

Born in Toronto to the late Irving and Myrna Stern.

Younger brother of the late Barbara Bongard. Survived by his four sons Michael, Daniel, Eric and Thomas, his wife Maria-Elena Stern, his companion Doris Vernon, his daughter-in-law Emma Stern, and his granddaughter Annabel Louisa.

From landscaping and exhibiting Woodstock film reels in his youth, to building cinemas, running a steel mill and developing real estate, to pioneering a startup incubator for future innovators, Peter was a dynamic visionary and leader.

Peter cherished his close-knit family and his lifelong friends. He was equal parts teacher and confidante to peers and proteges alike - both young and old.

He allowed little to get in the way of his priorities, and he never put his own interests ahead of those he loved. Our dad leaves behind a proud family and an ever-expanding circle of admirers. We will always remember the special way he made us feel, his generosity of spirit, and the twinkle in his eye.

In the words of his Uncle Morris, Peter was a giant. He was that rare giant who made others feel like giants whenever they were in his presence.

In lieu of gifts, the family would appreciate a personal message be left in his Memorial book, and would appreciate any donations made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
