How do we give tribute to a father who always put his family first and his trust in god in every step he took?
A father, grandfather, husband, father-in-law, uncle, brother, son and friend who's love was so immense it was unfathomable. I hope to have captured all your worth and value to us.
Moments before our talk that afternoon, we realized the path would be ending soon. Not long enough to hold his hand, this amazing person, this loving man. Not long enough to engage his eyes and remember he was always brimming with pride. Not long enough to stand by his side as he was by ours after every happiness, important moments, and rough tide and in our times of need. Not long to laugh with him still, not long enough for him to share his life stories and memories, not long enough for him to see his grandchildren achieve their greatest moments and not long enough for us to tell him how much he was loved. Not long enough to walk with this man who built our strong foundation and molded us into who we are. Not long enough to thank him for a wonderful life filled with love, trust and compassion. We will remember our walks with our father and how he lived his dash the line between birth and death. He lived it incredibly.
Daddy we know that you are by mom's side. Both of you taken far too soon. We just wish we would have had you here for longer.
