Waddell EileenWADDELL, Eileen (nee McAnally) - Eileen Waddell (nee McAnally) of New Toronto passed away at Dorothy Ley Hospice, Etobicoke on Sunday October 24th, 2021 at the age of 89.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Raymond in 2008, she leaves behind her stepson Robert “Mark”, his wife Kim, grandchildren Ryan, Sarah, Sophie and 3 great-grandchildren all residents of Sydney, Australia.

She will sadly be missed by a close group of near family friends acquired over a great lifetime.

Eileen’s office career began in Goodyear Canada’s Lakeshore Blvd plant, and she was a dedicated employee for some 40 plus years and often spoke fondly of associates and friends at the former factory in South Etobicoke, originally known as New Toronto where Eileen resided for almost her entire life.

Eileen recalled the many good times had at the family cottage at Balm Beach on Georgian Bay with her parents and friends. Eileen had a special relationship with the Crealock family that continues today with the younger generations. After retiring, and being a great cook, she frequently and joyfully hosted dinner parties with a close circle of friends, but never forgetting those of many decades.

The family would like to thank the many friends and close neighbours that brought happiness to Eileen these past few months. Family and friends from the neighbouring streets, suburbs, and cities and as far and wide as Texas and Australia came to celebrate Eileen’s life these past few months. A special thanks to Millie and Danny for always being there for Eileen.

She remains in our thoughts and hearts never to be forgotten.

If desired, donations can be made in Eileen’s memory to the Dorothy Ley Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Arrangements are entrusted with Ridley Funeral Home.
