FRANKLIN, Gwendolyn Helen (nee CHILMAN) - It is with profound sadness that the family of Gwen Franklin announces her passing on November 21, 2021 at the age of 97.
Gwen is now with Edmund, her beloved husband of 60 years.
Gwen and Ed were particularly devoted to each other and enjoyed travelling the world together.
Gwen was an extremely outgoing person, who loved her family, her dogs and meeting new people.
A cherished and loving mother, Gwen will be dearly missed by her sons David (Esme), Gerald (Deborah) and Ronald; her grandchildren Matthew (Allisa), Michael (Lana) Mark (Claudine) and Katie; great-grandchildren Brody and Ella; and her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Gwen's lovely smile and charm made her many friends, from her working years at Reckitt and Coleman, the sixty years plus of neighbours at Anndale Drive, and more recently the caring community of the Canterbury Retirement Residence in North York.
Friends and family may attend a memorial service for Gwen on Saturday, December 11, 2021, with visitation at 1:30 p.m. and the service at 2:00 p.m. at the Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, North York. Proof of full vaccination, along with government issued ID, are mandatory to attend indoor funeral services for those age 12 and older as well as the wearing of masks to comply with Covid-19 safety regulations.
