Moffitt EileenMOFFITT, Mary 'Eileen' (nee Flanagan) - (1932 - 2021) - Mary Eileen Moffitt (nee Flanagan) passed peacefully at the Wynfield Long Term Care Residence in Oshawa, Ontario on November 29th, 2021.

Loving mother of Bryan (Lydia), Sean (Colleen), and Karen (Brett Carlos). Cherished grandmother of Scott, Bradley, Kiera, Regan, Siobhan, Ronan, Riley, and Iain.

Born in London, England on August 3rd, 1932, much of her childhood was spent enduring the hardships of WWII, including the loss of her father at the end of the war. In 1950 at the age of 18, Eileen boarded a ship bound for Canada in search of adventure and new opportunities. Eileen’s mother (Mary Flanagan d. 1998), brother (Bernard Flanagan d. 1995) and extended family later joined her in setting roots in Toronto, Ontario where she eventually met her loving husband of 52 years, Harry Moffitt (d. 2015).

While Eileen focused on raising her children, she enjoyed her work in administration for the University of Toronto; first at the Institute for Aerospace Studies in North York and later at the downtown Toronto campus within the Department of Chemical Engineering.

Eileen will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who devoted herself to her family. Her greatest joy in life was seeing everyone around her happy. Anyone who visited the Moffitt household would remember her sweet nature and that she would never relax but rather work tirelessly to make sure everyone felt welcome, comfortable, and happy.

Arrangements are entrusted with Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, Thornhill.
