Abate GiuseppaABATE, Giuseppa (Adamo) Abate   -  Giuseppa was welcomed and reunited with her loving husband, Nicolo, in the Kingdom of Heaven on Tuesday, December 28, 2021.

Giuseppa was born on February 22, 1943 in Vita, Trapani, Sicily.

The youngest of 5 girls (survived by her sister, Lucia).

Having lost her mother, Filippa Ditta at the age of 9, her father, Salvatore Adamo gathered the family and moved to Canada for the opportunity of a better life.

Married at the age of 19, she lovingly raised 6 children, Vita (Tony), Vincenzo (Paola), Salvatore (April), Italo, Filippina (Dino) and Giovanni Luca (Christina).

She tenderly nurtured 17 grandchildren, Rosie, Nick (Erica), Josie Bianca, Vincenzo, Josie Donna, Nello, Juliana, Joseph, MaryAngela, Anna Maria, Josie-Ella, Stefan, Angelo, Niccolo, Nick, Francesco, Mauro, and proudly cherished her 3 great-grandchildren, Torino, Leo and Michaela.

She was a humble and kind mother who dedicated her life to raising a family and being a devoted wife.

Her life emanated the gospel value of "love thy neighbor", welcoming everyone into her home with open arms, homemade pizza, cassadetti and cannoli.

She was a devoted member of her parish as a choir member and volunteer.

Finding the good in everyone and always thanking God for all her blessings, she regularly donated to missionary efforts and many charities.

Always thinking of others before herself.

We fondly remember our mother with the words of her favourite saint, St. Therese De Lisieux.

"The Loveliest Masterpiece Of The Heart of God is the Heart of a Mother".

In memory of Giuseppa's giving spirit, the family asks, in lieu of flowers, that charitable donations be made to The Covenant House, 20 Gerrard Street East. Toronto, Ontario M5B 2P3.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 3, 2022, at Epiphany of Lord Church, 3200 Pharmacy Avenue, Toronto, at 10:30 a.m. A private entombment will take place.
