Kastelic JosephKASTELIC, Joseph  - It is with great sadness that the family of Jože Kastelic, announces his sudden passing, at Trillium Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on February 19, 2022, just one week shy of his 100th birthday.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Pepca (Josie) of almost 70 years.

Dear father of Tim (Cassie) and Will (Laurie).

Cherished grandfather of Kristen (Fraser) Stewart, Jenny (Taylor) Buxton, James (Carly), Christine and Andrew. Loving great-grandfather of McKenna Stewart and Andrew "AJ" Kastelic.

Jože is survived by his sister, Ani (Stanko) Bohte and also leaves many nieces and nephews in Canada, the U.S., and Slovenia. Jože was born in Vinja Vas, Slovenia and was the oldest of 8 children.

He immigrated to Canada in 1950 and soon married Pepca and started his family.

His favorite pastimes were playing with his grandchildren, tending to his gardens, and spending time at his cottage on Georgian Bay with family and friends.

A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, February 23rd, at 12:00 noon, at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 739 Brown's Line, Toronto. The family welcomes everyone but requests that guests wear masks due to COVID. The funeral mass will also be livestreamed at: www.facebook.com/ourladyofmm Visitation will be for immediate family only. A private interment will be in Mississauga.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the charity of your choice.
