Wybourn JaniceWYBOURN, Janice Mary  -   October 13, 1944 - March 24, 2022

Jan was born in Vancouver to Ed Wybourn and Helen Vance. Schooling, with brief stints in Toronto and New Jersey, was mostly at Kodaikanal International School in the Palni Hills of Tamil Nadu, south India.

She went on to study art, with a B.A. from Iowa University. (Iowa City) and an M.F.A. from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio).

Jan seemed shy, but could show a steely determination! She enjoyed a freelance career in commercial and graphic arts, and a parallel social life in the city of Toronto.

There she met her 40-year companion and husband Graham Wilson, who spent much of his career as a consulting geologist.

Jan leaves behind sister Carol (Ante), brother Robert, her friend of 50-plus years Maggi Redmonds, Louis (cousin) and Arlene, and other, widely-flung, dear friends and relatives - you know who you are! Closer to home, Graham, neighbour Ed (the Guardsman) Frape and Sid the Cat will all be lonely, albeit with a wealth of special memories. Jan died in her sleep in her 78th year.

Our thanks to the staff of Campbellford Memorial Hospital, who provided compassionate care for her in her last two weeks.

She had volunteered for the Hospital Auxiliary early in her stay in town, doing clerical tasks until technological advance rendered her post obsolete!

According to her wishes, cremation will be taking place and there will not be any formal service; maybe a wake at a later date!

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Inter Pares, Canadian Red Cross-Ukraine or OSPCA.
