STEELE NEILSON, Elizabeth Frances (nee PETTIFER)  -  Born September 7, 1927, Elizabeth died peacefully, at her home in Toronto, on March 18, 2023.


Beloved daughter of the late Edwin Charles and Frances Eleanor (née Steele) Pettifer.


Dearly loved mother of Sarah Frances Elizabeth.

Elizabeth was educated at the University of Toronto: Trinity College B.A (Hons) '50 and the Faculty of Management (now Rotman School of Management) MBA/MComm '58 and MA '63. Her career in accounting started at Fluor Corporation, followed by Clarkson Gordon & Co. and then Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co.


Following a career change, she taught for the TDSB. She was a life member of the Royal Canadian Yacht Club and a past member of the York Group, St. James' Cathedral.


Sarah would like to express her gratitude and heartfelt thanks to Dr. Dara Maker and Julie, Dr. Catherine Birt, Dr. M.R. Maleki-Yazdi, Dr. Carol Ott, Dr. Natasha Gakhal, Dr. Gil Faclier, Stephanie Renda, Physiotherapist, and to nurses Andrew, Olena and Michael for their excellent care.


A funeral will be held at Grace Church on-the-Hill, 300 Lonsdale Road, on Friday, March 24, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Trinity College or the OSPCA.
