STEWART, Alexander H. - Passed peacefully on his own terms on June 1, 2023, at Sunnybrook Hospital Palliative Care Unit at the age of 81.
Loving father of Bruce (Juliana), Ross and Emily (John).
Adoring Papa to his grandchildren Luka and Cera Stewart and Adelaide, Gordon and Jack Osborne. Brother of John (Marilyn), uncle to Pamela.
He was predeceased by his wife Shirley Stewart (nee Anderson). Alex battled Parkinson's Disease and with the help of his many friends at the Teddington Retirement Residence, he lived a happy and full life right until the end.
He loved curling at the Granite Club, teaching at Centennial College, cottaging on Lake Couchiching, being unofficial neighbourhood watch and was always ready for tax season.
He will be missed by his friends and neighbours that cared so much for him. A small service will be held for Alex on Saturday, June 17th from 2:30 - 3 p.m. at Armour Heights Presbyterian Church (105 Wilson Avenue). Following the service there is a celebration of life for friends in the Church's community room from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. Please feel free to join us for one or both at your leisure.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sunnybrook Palliative Care Unit in his honour would be appreciated to help honour Dr. Selby for the wonderful end-of-life care she coordinated.
