Wakefield GrahamWAKEFIELD, The Honourable Justice Graham Richard   -  It is with heavy hearts that we announce that the Honourable Justice Graham Wakefield passed away suddenly of natural causes on November 30, 2023, in his 67th year.

He is survived by his beloved partner Debbie, as well as the mother of his children Ann, his son Colin (Mary McMillan), daughter Caitlin (Mirwan Eid) and his sister Christine (William Boomhower).

Graham will be sorely missed by his beloved granddaughters Kalina and Malia.

He was pre-deceased by his mother Joan and father Reginald.

Graham knew from an early age that the law was the only career for him, especially after watching the Perry Mason TV series.

He graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1981 and was called to the bar in 1983 focusing on criminal law.

He had been a member of Legal Aid Ontario committee, as well as Durham Youth Justice network committee. He served on on the board of Durham Region Violence Prevention Council, as well as the Barbra Black Centre for Youth Resources.

Graham was appointed an Ontario Court Judge in Oshawa in 2008.

He transferred to Orangeville in 2021, where he felt an immediate connection to the people and town, and he became a well-respected member of the community. He was looking forward to helping many causes there including the Women's and Men's Shelters.

He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and colleagues.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to Sick Kids Hospital in honour of his granddaughter Kalina. https://fundraise.sickkidsfoundation.com/kalina or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
