Simmons SusanSIMMONS, Susan Elizabeth  -  With the heaviest of hearts, we bid farewell to our beloved Sue: mother, sister, niece, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend.

After a long mental health struggle to which she brought great strength and courage, Sue Simmons (née Whalen) died on December 10, 2023. Sue was a force: vivacious, energetic, beautiful and charismatic.

A foodie, deep thinker, free spirit, athlete, animal lover, lifelong learner and gardener, Sue gathered many wonderful friends throughout her life and believed in a better life for everyone.

Above all, she was an unstoppable force – a "Suenami," she joked – devoted to nurturing her young adult children, Chase and Angel, and helping them navigate their way in the world.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring. Date and location to be announced. Your prayers and messages of love and strength for all of us have been so very much appreciated.

We have lost a beautiful soul. Those making memorial donations may consider one of Sue's favourite causes: Autism Ontario, Canadian Mental Health Association, Harmony for Healing, Ontario SPCA or World Vision.
