Anderson AndrewANDERSON, Andrew Mitchell  - It is with great sadness that the family of Andrew Mitchell Anderson known as Mitch or Mickey to friends and family passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the Carpenter Hospice surrounded by family following a brief illness.

Mitch was born on June 9, 1935 in Tuberose, Saskatchewan where his father homesteaded over 100 years ago. He was very proud of his farm heritage as it made him who he was.

After attaining an MBA, he went into a career in education.

First as a Dean at Confederation College in Thunder Bay, Ontario and then to the Presidency of Selkirk College in Castlegar, BC. Later he moved back to Ontario where he worked developing training films for various hydro projects around the world.

Mitch retired with his wife Jackie to their cottage on Buckhorn Lake.

His children will never forget all he has done for them. He always encouraged and supported his children, their spouses and his grandchildren. Mitch was predeceased by his wife Jackie (den Bak). He leaves behind 3 daughters, Susan White (Dave) of Castlegar, BC, Michele Ellis (Ron) of Grand Bend, Ontario and Lisa Anderson (Mike) of Burlington, Ontario and one son, John Anderson (Shelley) of Cranbrook, BC and 10 grandchildren – David, Garett, Brennan, Nicholas, Laura, Luke, Colby, Karissa, Ryan and Katie. He is also survived by his brothers Louis and Carl and his sisters Mary and Jean.

His kids and grandchildren can all take comfort in the fact the traits that made Mitch who he was lives on in all of them and that he is now at peace with his loving wife Jackie.

A Celebration of Mitch's life will be held on Saturday July 7, 2018 at his cottage on Buckhorn Lake. Manhattans to be served starting at 4:00pm.

If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Carpenter Hospice in Burlington, Ontario.
