PAYNE, Ethel (EKIE) Marie - With deep sadness, we wish to announce the sudden passing of Ekie Payne.
Ekie passed away peacefully at the Bayview Hospital in Barbados on April 23, 2018.
She leaves behind her beloved husband Eric, her sisters Bonna Hyde and Eva D'Cruz and her brother Joe Smith.
Ekie was predeceased by her parents William and Rachael Carey, her sisters Verna and Betty and by her brothers Hughie, Merle, Vance, Jerry, Sonny and Doug.
She is cherished by many other family members, nieces and nephews and friends. She will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service will take place on June 16th at 4 p.m. at St. Hugh & St. Edmund Anglican Church, 7314 Goreway Drive, Mississauga, Ontario, 905-677-3209.
A celebration of Ekie's life will be held in Nova Scotia (date unknown) where she will be laid to rest.
