MOODY, Harry John B.E., Engineering Physics, M.Sc., Nuclear Physics, Ph.D., Nuclear Physics  -

1926 - 2018  Died peacefully at his home in Bedford, NS on July 16, 2018.

He was the son of the late Leafy May (Schultz) and Frederick Thornley Bricknell Moody who farmed at Birsay, Saskatchewan and retired in Penticton, British Columbia.

Harry is survived by his cherished family: his dear wife, Ellen Eiwen (Moore); his son Frederick Ross; daughters Gwyneth May and Phyllis Arlene; and six grandchildren.

During his career in Montreal, where he raised his family with his wife, Harry was an accomplished research scientist who was known for his extensive involvement in domestic, international and military communications spacecraft programs. He is a former member of the Canadian Association of Physicists and listed in the American Men of Science.

Harry was an enthusiastic volunteer at organizations such as the non-profit, community-based Halifax Phoenix House for youth as well as others.

He was also known to have a fondness for cross-words and puzzles as well as social functions at the Bedford Condominium Complex where he retired and resided for some 14 years with his loving wife.

As his family and friends mourn his passing and celebrate his life and many accomplishments they will greatly miss his humour, his stories and gentle spirit.

His family has requested a private graveside service in Dartmouth, NS and no visitation.
