SIMS, Krista Rhyan (nee JOLLY)  - Passed away on July 19, 2018, at Toronto General Hospital, age 62.

Beloved wife of Geoffrey Sims.

Loving mother of Kara, Paul (Marianne) and Robin (Bairn).

Devoted Nana to Riley Wiley and Zander Sims-Boon.

Survived by her mother, Shirley Pate (Klaas VanGraft) and step-mother, Jackie Jolly, as well as siblings Brad Jolly (Lynne), Lisa Pascucci (Larry), Michelle Schuliakewich (Vic) and Peter Jolly, step-siblings Chuck (Sandra) and Sandra Pate (Liz) and sister-in-law, Gill Thomson.

Caring aunt to Jennifer Scanlan (Tom), Julia and Gavin Jolly, Lucas and Charlotte Pascucci, Madison and Emma Schuliakewich.

Great-aunt to Scarlett Scanlan. Predeceased by her father, Kenneth Jolly, brother, David Jolly, (former) step-father, Bill Pate and step-brother, Kevin Pate. Krista was born in Toronto on August 29, 1955, and grew up in the west end. After the family moved to Etobicoke, she attended Etobicoke Collegiate Institute, where she met Geoff.

They married in December 1973 and were looking forward to celebrating their 45th anniversary. While her children were still young, Krista went back to school and became an Educational Assistant with the Toronto District School Board; she worked for over thirty years at Annette Public School, where she was beloved by staff and students alike. Krista was a skilled cook and their home became a centre for yearly parties, including Halloween, The Grey Cup and family Christmas and Boxing Day celebrations.

Passionate about her Junction neighbourhood, Krista delighted in supporting local stores and products, as well as celebrating the achievements of her children and their wide group of friends.

She took great pride in her grandchildren and was so happy to have close relationships with both.

A celebration of her life is being planned and will be announced on Facebook in the coming days.
