TILBE, Roberta Mae - Passed away peacefully at her residence on July 24, 2018 at the age of 90 with her family by her side.
Born in Toronto on May 19, 1928, Roberta was the daughter of Agnes (nee McGhie) and Thomas McDonnell.
Family and friends will remember our mother for being a loving, gentle and compassionate woman who had a real zest for life and a positive attitude, never fearful of taking on new challenges and always willing to help.
She lived her life in the service of her Lord Jesus Christ and in the service of her community and church. One of her many acts of service she enjoyed so much when she was in her 80's, was boarding the church bus in the cold of winter to head to downtown Toronto to feed the hungry.
Roberta shared a loving marriage of 46 years with her beloved husband, Alfred Peter Tilbe, until his passing in 1999. Together they built a life of love for each other and their family.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed by her son Dr. Kim Tilbe (Dr. Patricia Kresan), her three daughters Robin (Glen) Boy, Judith (David) Graham and Karen (Geoff) Reed, her grandchildren, Ashley, Erin (David), Courtney, Scott, Carlye, Luke, Jack and Bronwyn and her great-granddaughter Jazlyne and one she did not yet know, as well as many friends and extended family.
A Celebration will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at York Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Rd., North York.
