LORENC, Paul - The strongest man in the world has died.
Paul Lorenc passed away peacefully, in his home on Thursday, March 18, 2021.
surrounded by his loving family.
He battled pancreatic cancer for over two years and never once gave up hope.
Paul was born on October 29, 1967, in rural Brzozow, Poland.
He is the son of Maria and his late father, Bronislaw, who he has now been reunited with.
Paul also joins his older sister, Dorothy in heaven.
He is outlived by his three brothers, Richard, Boleslaw and his twin brother, Peter.

SHEN, Robert Lui - Died peacefully on March 18, 2021, at the age of 77, following a short struggle with MDS (myelodysplastic syndromes), a bone-marrow disease.
Robert was born in Tianshui, China, on May 2, 1943.
He has said that his Chinese name (沈鐳) is a play on words in honour of the thunderstorm on the night of his birth which ended a long period of drought.
He is the eldest son among six children and is survived by his four sisters and a younger brother.
Robert graduated from University of Taiwan with a degree in English. He settled in Hong Kong and began what would become a life-long career with IBM.

TUROWSKI, Jean - It is with great sadness that we share news of Jean's passing. She passed away peacefully on March 18, 2021 at Chester Village in Toronto.
She is survived by her two beloved daughters and son: Stephanie (Michael) Lasanowski, Andrea (David) Bosma and Scott (Lisa) Turowski.
She will always be remembered by her cherished grandchildren: Olivia, Sophia, Zachary and Faye.
Jean was a loving mother, magical grandmother and a little social butterfly. She will be remembered for her creative personality, sense of humor and great devotion to her family and friends.

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Zenaida, on March 18, 2021 at the age of 73 years.
A loving wife of 53 years to Bienvenido and caring mother to daughter Johannah.
Predeceased by her parents Teodorico Sr. and Buhay Malan.
Cherished sister to Querubin (Flor), Daniel (Dolores) and Teodorico Jr. (Merle). She will be missed by her nieces Melanie, Melissa, Christine, Pres and her grandnephews and grandnieces.
Zeny's smile and kindness will live on in the memories of her large and loving community of family and friends.

ROCHE, Sheila - Sheila Roche, beloved wife of Alex Roche, passed Thursday, March 18, 2021 in her 77th year.
The youngest of 4 children, Sheila was born June 1944 in England.
She is survived by her devoted husband Alex, sons Geoffrey, Ashley, Austin, grandchildren Natalie, Jacqueline, Michelle, Ava, Mako, Henry, and sister Jillian Evans.
She was predeceased by her parents Dorothy and Maxwell Fryd, and brothers John and Richard.
Sheila first came to Canada in 1965 for what was to be the beginning of a world tour.
She met Alex shortly thereafter and they became inseparable for the next 55 years.

WONG, Julie - Departed this world on March 18, 2021.
Reunite with her husband, Gian Hung, and her son, Kelly, in heaven.
During her time here she persevered through thick and thin, war, famine, economic depression, recession and viri outbreaks with little support and raised a family of two, Norman & Kelly with love.

GROSSI, Antonio - Age 84, passed away on March 18, 2021 at home where he always wanted to be, after a brave battle with prostate cancer.
Tony was larger than life and his family and friends miss him so dearly.
We take comfort knowing he’s now reunited with his daughter Olimpia, his son-in-law Bradley, his parents Domenico and Olimpia, and his uncles and aunts whom he adored.
There must have been one hell of a welcoming party, with Tony, no doubt, holding court, retelling stories about the good old days, filling everyone with wine, laughter and Italian dance songs he played on his accordion with uncle Paul on guitar.

POIRIER, Bernard A. - With great sadness, the family of Bernard A. (Bernie) Poirier announces his passing on the evening of Thursday, March 18, 2021, after a brief battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
A loving husband and father with a kind heart and infectious sense of humour, Bernie will be forever remembered by his wife, Jackie, his children, Nick (Lynn), Andrew (Melanie) and Stephanie (Donnie) and his grandchildren, Mateo, Carter, Mila, Isla and Alice.
Dear brother to Lise Poirier, brother-in-law of Christine (Simon) O'Neill, uncle to Matthew, Meghan, Katie, Emma, and cousin (little brother) to Robert (Elizabeth) Poirier.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, in 1960, Bernie and Jackie moved to Georgetown, Ontario, in 1983, where they would raise their three children and forge many long-lasting relationships and deep family friendships.

Gwen was known for her positive attitude, quick wit and sharp mind. She was an avid reader, talented knitter and loved to play cards.

Our Beloved Karen is free and is in her father's arms, greeted by her dogs.
Loving mother to Brendan J. Huggett, amazing aunt to David, Natalie, Antonina.
Dear daughter of Rosemary and David Jeffrey (deceased 1970), devoted sister to Pamela.
Karen battled hard over the last number of years with various illness, finally finding peace last week at St. Michael's Hospital, with family.
Karen was 1 of 4 patients to begin Nocturnal Hemodialysis, in April 1994 at Wellesley Hospital.

PRIESTLEY, Kathleen "Kathy" Sudan - Age 70, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Grand River Hospital, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Born September 24, 1950, in Elmhurst, Illinois, to Betty and Joseph Caruso, Kathy had been a resident of Kitchener-Waterloo since 1989.
Kathy was a loving and devoted mother who lived by the mantra, "No matter what happens, everything will be okay".
She was a voracious reader, talented gardener, world-class shopper, and an even better gift giver.
A resourceful DIY-er and true Jill-of-all-Trades, she was proud to have worn many professional hats in her life - from real estate agent to respiratory therapist, to being the first female ski lift operator in the state of Wisconsin.

CHAMPAGNE, Gilberte (Jill) - 1948 - 2021 Jill passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the age of 72 with her two children by her side, from complications due to cancer.
She will be dearly missed by Taryn and Shawn and by her grandchildren Hayden and Megan as well as by her brother Marc (Johanne) and sister Gay (Brian) as well as her nephews, cousins and extended family.
Jill was predeceased by her parents Margaret Champagne (nee Wilson) and Gerard Champagne and by her sister Kim. Jill loved life and was always happy and smiling.
She enjoyed her job of many years in Toronto and will be remembered by her ringette friends in Montreal.

CHAVES, Fulgencio Fernandes - Obituary for Grandpa - Fulgencio Fernandes Chaves was born on June 18, 1938 in Porto, Portugal and passed on March 17, 2021.
He was the youngest of six children. He predeceased all of his siblings and often expressed his loneliness when he was the last one standing.
He survived growing up in a poor family during a time of war and dictatorship. Grandpa was an incredible man who worked very hard to provide for his family, but felt he had to leave his beloved Portugal in search of a better life for his family.
