THOMPSON, Dorothy Lenore (Scovell) - 79, of Oshawa, passed peacefully on September 25, 2020, at Hillsdale Estates LTC with her daughter Suzanne and son Chris close by.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Suzanne (Tom), son Christopher (Jessica), Brother Murray and grandchildren Collin and Cameron.
Dorothy was born in Toronto in 1941, the youngest of 6.
She attended Teachers College and soon embarked upon her life-long passion of teaching and inspiring young minds.
Dorothy met her husband, Richard, in Yorkville in the early 60’s, where they were a part of the coffee shop beatnik scene in Toronto, and they married at Bedford Park United church in 1965.
Dorothy moved into long term care in Oshawa and was shortly joined by her husband, and they lived closely together until Richard passed away at the end of December, 2019.
A very special thank you to her caregivers at Hillsdale Estates where she resided for the last 2 and half years. Your caring support was immeasurable.
