POWELL, Wayne - On Monday, January 25, 2021, at the age of 76, Wayne Powell passed away during a brief stay at Scarborough General Hospital.
Wayne will be remembered by his beloved wife Susan (nee Kitchen), his children Scott Powell (Kathy), David Franklin (Shelley), Andrew Franklin (Leah), Lisa Teasdale (David) and his grandchildren Sammy, Nate, Quin, Grace, Trenton, and Kaitlyn.
Wayne was the son of the late Gordon & Vida Powell of West Hill and brother to Lynne Westlake, Victor Powell (Cheryl), the late Arlene Lucas (Bob), the late David Powell, and the late Patricia Gildon (Mike).
Wayne proudly served for 28 years as a police officer with the Toronto Police Service before retiring.
He enjoyed serving veterans through the Royal Canadian Legion in many capacities. At the time of his passing, he was the Deputy District D Commander of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was also a devoted volunteer with Easter Seals.
Wayne’s hearty laugh, dedication and generosity will be greatly missed by his family, friends and comrades.
A funeral will be held at a later date when family and friends can gather. Arrangements entrusted with Giffen-Mack funeral home, Scarborough chapel.
