Curran EdwardCURRAN, William 'Edward' - (1926 -2021) - William Edward Curran died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on January 27, 2021 - the 65th anniversary of his father’s death.

He was a devoted husband to Pat (Patricia Paff) his wife of 74 years, and loving father to John (Evelyn Cunningham), Joan (Roger Kenrick), Elyse (George Strathy), Chris (Sue Brighton) and Claudia (Greg Acton).

Edward was the eldest child of Harry and Gladys.

He leaves his brothers John, Raymond, Lyle and sisters Joyce and Marilyn, and sister-in-law Judith Arthurs.

He leaves his beloved grandchildren Olivia, Sarah, Anna, Ian, Graham, Jessica, Maeve, Alexandra, Kevin and Joel and great-grandchildren Teoman, Jacqueline, Hazel, Emre, Sloane, Robin and James.

Edward grew up on his family’s farm in Moore Township, Ontario where he developed his lifelong work ethic and business acumen.

A natural entrepreneur, Edward and his brother Ray helped their father’s fledgling company, Curran & Herridge Construction (known today as Curran Contractors) become instrumental in building and maintaining the infrastructure of Sarnia’s Chemical Valley. Still thriving today, Curran Contractors continues to enjoy a reputation throughout southwestern Ontario for its integrity, professionalism, quality and safety.

Ed shared his talents with numerous associations and groups over his lifetime including the Ontario General Contractors Association, the Construction Safety Association, and Sacred Heart Church. His sage advice was sought by friends and family alike.

Ed loved playing golf with his friends in Sarnia and South Hutchinson Island, Florida and attending annual spiritual retreats.

Edward’s family is grateful to his caregivers, especially Marissa, for their tender devotion.

Arrangements are entrusted with Rosar-Morrison funeral home, Toronto. Due to COVID restrictions, there will be a private funeral mass for Edward celebrated by Father Morgan Rice, CSB at St. Basil’s Church Toronto followed by a private burial at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery in Sarnia.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Archdiocese of Toronto.
